The
Valummel Teacher Training Institute was started in 2004 by the Meenakshi
Charitable Trust at Moolankave near Sulthan Bathery in the Wayanad
district of Kerala state.
One of the educationally backward districts of the state, Wayanad
was in limelight recently for its farm crisis, educational backwardness

to grab the fruits of new vistas of information and knowledge. The

assists them to become role models.
The Institute succeeded in carving its own niche in the educational
arena of the district. Within in a small span of time it proved
its presence felt as its students emerged toppers not only in examinations
but also in extra curricular activities.
The first batch of the institution was started on 11th October
2004. Additional intake of 50 students was allotted on 15th October
2005.
